Remember,  there are 47,000,000 Americans on food stamps right now, and yet the government refuses to open more land to drilling, refuses to substantially lower taxes for businesses, refuses to stop blowing literally billions on foreign governments, and refuses to stop blowing up small 3rd world countries. These aren’t the actions of people trying to “fix” the economy. These are actions of people who are only motivated by power. People have to wake up before it’s too late.Either way, I’m glad Rick Harrison believes this way. I was a big fan before, but I’ll be watching even more going forward. Whenever a celebrity actually stands up to tyranny, we need to reward them with positive publicity and show public support — maybe more will come forward.

Groupon Has Canceled All Of Its Gun-Related Deals

What do you think about this? Will you continue to use Groupon? Does this bother you?

Michael Cargill, the owner of a gun shop in Texas, said that his Groupon deal — for a concealed handgun training course — was canceled and that the representative told him Groupon CEO Andrew Mason was behind the decision.”The Groupon representative calls me up and he says that Well, because of the CEO, hes decided to suspend all Groupon deals related to handguns, concealed handguns or anything dealing with guns period,” Cargill told FOX 7.Cargill is now calling for a boycott of Groupon.

UN Representative Calls For Establishing A ‘World Capital’–In Islamic Istanbul

What do you think of this? Do you agree or disagree? The world needs a global capital and it should be the capital of Islamic Turkey, Istanbul, according to a UN special representative. Richard Falk, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Palestinian human rights, wrote a Nov. 1, 2012, opinion piece for the controversial al Jazeera English site calling for a “global capital” because of integration “by markets, by globally constituted battlefields, by changing geopolitical patterns.”

While Turkey is a longstanding U.S. ally and a member of NATO, its nearly 80 million population is 99.8 percent Muslim, according to the CIA Factbook. Its Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has had several run-ins with Israel over access to Gaza. In March, he urged Israel to “stop the brutal attack against Palestinians and stop the massacre and bloodshed.”

The U.S. Embassy in Turkey sent out an “emergency message” for U.S. citizens in September warning of “a planned anti-American march/protest” in Istanbul. The march was tied to protests against the YouTube video claimed by critics to be anti-Islamic. “The Department of State strongly recommends avoiding the march/protest location as well as any other large crowds that may gather in Istanbul to protest against the controversial video that has created other demonstrations throughout the world,” explained the warning.

Patrons riding METRO on Friday, April 13, or any given day, may be sitting next to an undercover MPD officer.The move to monitor and curtail crime on buses and trains is just one component of a much larger initiative called BusSafe – a national pilot program created by a peer advisory group of mass transit police chiefs and security directors, and one which METRO’s Police Department is adopting to enhance safety on the system.

Diabetes Warriors, Steve Cooksey, and the future of low-carb diets… VIDEO

what does “giving nutritional advice” really mean and should a person who is not a Doctor be prevented from sharing it? What do you think? Are you too stupid to make up your mind on who you want to get advice from? Should they silence people so you don’t have a choice? Thoughts?! 

I have been recently following the controversy surrounding Steve Cooksey and his website Diabetes-Warrior.net with great interest.  If you do not know, Steve Cooksey is being investigated by the North Carolina Board of Dieticians for giving nutritional information on his website without a license.This is obviously a complex issue, but the more I look into it, it is also not simply a legal issue either, where a person is accused of allegedly giving advice he shouldn’t have been giving.  In my opinion,  it is a political one which invokes several important topics regarding the popularity and success of low-carb dieting and the abject failure of conventional dietary guidelines that are promulgated by government bodies.Specifically, as I see it, the ‘Cooksey Affair’ is a referendum in regards to the conventional wisdom of bodies like the American Diabetes Association and other dietary boards which have suggested and recommended over and over again that a diet that is based on a large amount of complex carb and a large amount of  whole grains is healthy for diabetics. It is not.

craigslist a “rogue site” for blacklisting and takedown under PIPA

Do you use Craigslist? If PIPA goes thru… you won’t be able to….they say they will only go after foreign piracy sites but CL is already on the list to be taken down. Read this and get informed before it is too late. 

Corporate supporters of HR3261(SOPA) and S968 (PIPA) demand the ability to take down any web site that affects their profits — without due process or judicial oversight — in the name of combating “online piracy.” Hoping you won’t notice or care, quite a few of our Public Servants want to give them that right. Believe it or not, Monster Cable (remember “Monster Park”?) considers craigslist a “rogue site” for blacklisting and takedown under PIPA - apparently 2nd hand sales of stereo cables by CL users is reducing Monster’s sales of new cables. (reddit).

SOPA/PIPA authors and supporters insist they’re only after foreign piracy sites, but Internet Engineers understand this is an attempt to impose “Big Brother” control over our Internet, complete with DNS hijacking and censoring search results.

<RANT>What could be more anti-American than jack-booted thugs throttling our free speech, poisoning that greatest of American inventions, the Internet, while devastating perhaps our most successful and competitive industry? There’s got to be a better way to sell more stereo cables.</RANT>
